Frolesworth

Locality

Frolesworth is a small village and parish 4 miles north of Lutterworth, 3 miles from Broughton Astley and 18 miles west of Market Harborough.

The Leicestershire Round footpath crosses the parish and additional footpaths have been created around the artificial lake in the fields of Manor Farm. The majority of the parish buildings are aligned with or set back from the single main street in the village. The population stands at just over 200.

History

The village’s boundary has changed little over two hundred years, with virtually all twentieth-century properties being infill sites along the main street.

Major Road Links

The village is located near to Jct 20 of the M1 and also has easy access to the M69 and M6. North Kilworth also has easy access to the city of Leicester and nearby towns of Rugby, Lutterworth and Market Harborough.

At the center of the village is St Nicholas Church. The church commands the highest ground in the village, its tower is a local landmark when approaching the village. Frolesworth also has a village hall and a mobile library regularly passes through the village.

The Frolesworth Parish council regularly holds small events. The Kilworth House Theatre, only a few miles outside the village, stages productions at their open air theatre and other performing arts groups regularly produce shows at the venue of Lutterworth College.
